Sivas Nuri Demirağ Airport
SİVAS NURİ DEMİRAĞ AIRPORT; (IATA: VAS - ICAO: LTAR) was opened to air traffic in 1957 for military purposes, and started to serve civil air traffic in the Terminal building of 2217 m² built by DHMI in 1990. Operated by the DHMİ. The airport is located on the MERAKUM hill in the northwest of Sivas, 22 km far from the city.
Airport runway width of 30 meters to 45 meters off the runway special lighting and asphalt completed. The runway 1/19, Turkey has earned the distinction of being the second longest runway with 3811x45 m. The new APRON and the Runway connection Taxiway, with a capacity of 8760 aircraft per year, with a size of 120x240 m and a capacity of 5 aircraft, were put into service on 22.12.2006. The new terminal building, which started operation on 18.12.2010, has an annual capacity of 3,000,000 passengers.
The 20.047 m2 Terminal building is used jointly as a domestic and international terminal. There are CHECK-IN counters, cafes, car rental companies, health unit, tourist information office and ATM inside the terminal building with an annual passenger capacity of 3,000,000 people.
