Elazığ Airport
ELAZIĞ AIRPORT; (LTC to ICAO, IATA-EZS) services for military purposes began in 1940 and was opened for civil Aviation use in 1960, Turkey bears the distinction of being the first civil airport. The airport superstructure and terminal building, whose constraction were started in August 2010, were made ready for service on 20 October 2012. The new 3000-meter Concrete Runway, whose foundation was laid in 2006 and completed in 2007, landed the first THY plane in 2009, making a great contribution to Elazig-Airport. The distance of the Airport from the city is 12 km, and transportation is provided by bus and taxi operations.
There is also a parking lot, cafeteria, VIP lounge in the Airport Terminal. The Airport has an old runway with the size of 1720x32 m, number 13/31, a new runway in the direction of 3000x45 07/25, a runway of 231x24m and an APRON with a capacity of 20,000 m², 7 aircraft. The new Terminal Building of the Airport, which was opened on 20.10.2012, is 16.400m², the total covered area is 30.000 m² and the total area is 4.720.000 m², and its operated by DHMI. In the terminal building, there are cafes, car rental companies, health unit, tourist information office and an ATM.
